Into Hot Springs

3–5miles

Explore the Land of Waterfalls

A suggested last full day that balances one more adventure with real rest after backpacking. Other options are on the next pages.

Morning
Relax. The cabin can be stocked for breakfast so you can cook and take a slow morning in the yurt.
Afternoon
Waterfall tour with Katlyn. Pickup at the yurt, a favorite DuPont State Forest waterfall, then up to the Blue Ridge Parkway for views. Bakery sandwiches and a picnic up top (included).
Evening
Swing by the Cedar Mountain Canteen, a locals-only spot near the yurts. Draft beers and a good bottle selection to take home, with live bluegrass most nights.
Friday · Sept 19 — Head out. Breakfast at Cedar Mountain Cafe (~5 miles from the yurt), or cook at the yurt, then back on the road.
Optional add-ons

Ways to rest and restore after four days out.

Food & drink

A celebratory end-of-trip beer.

Brevard has plenty of options. Katlyn will make exact recommendations and reservations closer to the trip. For the one beer at the finish, a few favorites:

Sierra Nevada

Brewery · Mills River

Dinner and drinks at a big brewery with outdoor seating, live music, and fire-pit areas.

Cedar Mountain Canteen

Locals-only · near the yurts

A spot you'd miss without a local. Live bluegrass most nights and a great selection.

185 King Street

Brevard

Music every night on a patio that keeps it from getting too loud, with good beer and food.
